If you see disallow followed by a forward slash and nothing else after it, this is a problem. This is effectively telling search engines to completely ignore your website and that you don't want them to crawl or index it, which means they're never gonna show it in search results or mention.

Open your browser and go to your domain, forward slash robots.txt. This is an example of a healthy robots dot text file.

It's telling search engines to index the site. It's doing everything it needs to to get the right pages index.

If you see disallow followed by a forward slash and nothing else after it, this is a problem. This is effectively telling search engines to completely ignore your website and that you don't want them to crawl or index it, which means they're never gonna show it in search results or mention.

If you see this, all of your SEO efforts are completely pointless. You need to fix this first.
