Elon Musk's Grockopedia is getting hit hard by Google. It reached a peak in SEO traffic at the end of January.

SEO started talking about it a lot. Now it's going way downhill.

Google has a policy in its guidelines called Scaled Content content abuse. It literally says using generative AI tools or similar tools to generate many pages without adding value for users.

Elon would make the argument that Grokopedia does add value for users by not being biased. That's the mission statement for Grokopedia.

But Google allowing an entirely AI generated encyclopedia creates a slippery slope for other websites. If Grokopedia can put up millions of AI generated pages, why can't my new sass do it too?

With this said, fluctuations in SEO happen all the time. It's also entirely possible Grokopedia will rally after this.

Now if you're considering putting out tons of AI generated content, my personal take is I would advise against it. It's a very dangerous idea.
