Everyone's saying "SEO is dead" but here's what's really happening... ๐ AI just changed the entire game #SEO #DigitalMarketing #AI #ContentTips #MarketingTrends
SEO is not dead, but it is changing faster than ever before. Recently, some content creators have upset the SEO industry by claiming that SEO is dead. Often times these influencers are selling some kind of Geo or AI optimization product.
But as anyone who's actually practicing SEO on a daily basis right now knows, SEO isn't dead at all. In fact, as of right now, not much has changed.
However, I do think that most of the SEO community is kind of ignoring the fact that big change is definitely coming. The truth is, SEO can never really die completely. As long as there are search algorithms, there will be ways to optimise for those algorithms.
And even when AI is doing more and more of the work, they're always going to be using some kind of search algorithm.
However, that's the change that many SEO's seem to be failing to recognise. More and more it is the AI using the search algorithm. Instead of humans going to Google search, humans are going to a large language model like ChatGPT, and the large language model is going to a search engine.
So aside from the fact that search engines themselves are continuing to change, and at a faster pace than ever, the bigger change we're seeing is in search behaviour. Large language models just use much more specific search terms, and they look through 10 or 100 times as many web pages. And that dramatically changes the strategy.
So, no, SEO isn't dying anytime soon or ever, but the strategy is changing at an unprecedented rate.
