I've just seen a video where an agency owner said that her agency is no longer using WordPress because they want their websites to look more professional. Like, that doesn't even make sense. I'm assuming she must have had some backlash for this because the comments to the video were totally disabled. I couldn't even reply with my opinion...

So let's break this down now. The platform and the design, they're two totally different things.

WordPress is a CMS. It's the engine.

It's got nothing to do with the design. On the front end, the browser doesn't render.

Whether it's WordPress or not, the browser just renders whatever the designer or you if you've used it as developed. If the site looks unprofessional, that's because your designs are unprofessional.

It's got nothing to do with WordPress. So whatever platform you use, you're gonna have the same problem.

Now, I've said it before, you can build absolutely anything with WordPress, like Pixel for pixel design, whatever you want. However, the reverse is not always true...
