Whether it's WordPress or not, the browser just renders whatever the designer or you if you've used it as developed. If the site looks unprofessional, that's because your designs are unprofessional.
It's got nothing to do with WordPress. So whatever platform you use, you're gonna have the same problem.
Now, I've said it before, you can build absolutely anything with WordPress, like Pixel for pixel design, whatever you want. However, the reverse is not always true...

These are some of the most beautiful websites that are around. So if you can't make WordPress websites look professional, then I blame the builder, not the platform.
