Basically, they were an easy way to improve your click through rate and visibility on Google. May 7th, 2026, Google are no longer supporting them, which means you're not gonna see them again.
To be honest, they were basically like the amateur hour version of overviews anyway, which is why we've been seeing them less and less since 2023. But what does this mean for your website SEO strategy?
Honestly, I wouldn't change anything, being 100% transparent here. I don't remember the last time I intentionally added FAQ schema to a page.
And this is not me saying don't add FAQs. They can be super helpful for users and add additional context to the page that will help your ranking.
But if you've been publishing FAQ heavy content trying to chase those rich results, well, your strategy was already out of date...
