How do I set up the lighting for my social media videos? I've made close on 700 videos and I've used the same lighting in almost all of them. I want to show you how simple it actually is and I'm going to show you step by step.

The first thing that I want to show you is the room that I'm recording in.

As you can see, it's a simple room. It's got fluorescent lights. You can see my iPhone put up on a tripod over there connected to my microphone with a simple cable.

It's important to note my background, I think is quite simple as well and most importantly, I've got completely black curtains over there that keeps all the light coming in from the windows.

Simple as that. The next thing I'm gonna do is put on a Godox spotlight. It goes overhead of me as well and you'll see what a difference it makes when I turn it on.

There you go.

As you can see, it's on top of me in a bit of a angle to try keep the reflections away from my glasses. The next step that I'm gonna do is that I've got these newer lights in the background. I choose different colours for all my videos just to add a cool background effect to it.

Okay, now for the final step, because as I mentioned in my office I've got complete blackout curtains.

Look what happens when I switch off The light. And this is where the magic happens. Wow.

There you go.

It's as simple as that. Can you see what a difference it makes? Again, everything's completely black.

I've got the spotlight over there.

I've got the backgrounds. And there you go. This is the lighting that I use for all of my videos.
