If you're an e-commerce business owner and you're trying to make money from Google without paying for ads, you need to know how to do proper keyword research, because a scary amount of you get this wrong. And we're gonna change that right now.
Full disclosure, I show you this method in depth in my course, SEO Clinic, but I am gonna show you now. It's just, if you want a really detailed walkthrough with lots of examples, that is your best bet.
First, go to your keyword research tool. Start by searching for a super broad keyword related to everything that you sell. You should get a list of keywords, and you're gonna go through this list to find the ones that best describe a product or a small group of products that you sell on your site.
And while you're doing this, you need to pay attention to these three columns.
Intent, which is the reason why they're searching. You wanna look for commercial and transactional intent keywords, because these are the ones that people search when they're looking to buy.
Keyword difficulty. This is how easy a keyword is to rank for. Obviously you wanna go for easier because you're more likely to rank.
And volume, which is how many times that keyword is approximately searched per month. You don't wanna target a keyword that gets, like, no searches, but also if it gets hundreds of thousands of searches per month, it's probably not likely that you're gonna rank for it.
Let me know how you get one in the comments.
