I'm just gonna show you the exact process I would follow if I was doing an SEO audit on your website. Specialist, by the way. I'm not just some rando, people hire me to do this.
We gonna start out with some technical SEO basics. Have you submitted your site map? Can search engines actually crawl and index your site?
Are your important pages indexed? If there's an issue at this step, there's no point doing anything else, so always start here.
Once you know that search engines can actually access and index your content, then we gonna look at how well optimised it is. Just a little disclaimer, there is absolutely loads to this, which I cover in the SEO Clinic, which is my SEO course for business owners who wanna rank on Google and AI search.
But at a minimum, every page needs an optimized meta title, an optimized heading, one additional headings underneath that to organize your content. Oh, and decent content, not this basic stuff from ChatGPT that you probably haven't even read yourself.
Once you've got that down, you need to look at what pages your website actually has and match that to keyword research. This is gonna help you find the content gaps that you need to fill. Because so many of you have got like one service page that covers five different services, or you've got like 200 products, but only four collection pages.
Basically, you're missing a ton of opportunities to rank for things that people are searching for related to what you offer. Finally, you need to make sure your website's user experience is solid. Were talking check and fix broken links, make sure everything loads quickly.
Oh, and it's 2026. There is absolutely no excuse for you not to be looking at how your website performs on mobile and making sure that that is optimal.
If there's any issues in one of these areas, that is gonna hold back your whole website SEO. SEO Clinic, as I'm teaching you these things, you're logging everything in a workbook, and at the end, that gives you a prioritized action list.
Honestly, the best thing you can do this year is have an action plan for your SEO. Because otherwise, you're just throwing things and seeing what sticks.
