I think the way we do design work is about to change faster than any change we've seen so far. ChatGPT's image 2 model just dropped and it is truly amazing. It's by far the biggest jump we've seen in image capabilities today.

But that's not even the big story here. ChatGPT has also been testing a new Pro model. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been released by the time you're watching this video, but as of right now, it's just been stealth released.

By that I mean that some people are noticing when they go to use the Pro model right now, they're getting access to a much smarter model.

And one thing people are noticing as they're testing this new model is that it's remarkably good at front end design and coding. People are giving it images of websites and apps and it's able to replicate them perfectly.

This is all happening just a few days after Anthropic released Claude Design, which was already blowing people's minds. The problem that Claude Design has is it can't generate images. You have to import your own images.

This is gonna make it very hard, if not impossible, for it to compete with whatever model ChatGPT is about to release.

However this shakes out, one thing is really clear. The way we do design is going to change very quickly. The entire industry is now scrambling to figure out how we adapt to this new paradigm.

It's clear that AI can now make beautiful, functional websites quite easily, and those capabilities aren't slowing down anytime soon. However, that still just leaves us with a bunch of HTML files and no obvious way to organize or maintain them.

That might be fine for smaller static websites, but for larger dynamic websites we need some kind of platform. We need a CMS. WordPress is clearly not adapting fast enough.

EmDash is trying to replace WordPress, and I think it has a real shot of being the preferred AI platform, but it's too early to say. I'm sure there are already a thousand other startups trying to be this platform. And of course, there's always the possibility that Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google find a way to work this into their existing products.

Right now the entire industry is in limbo, but it's clear we need to find a way to integrate AI with our CMS.
