It's nuts to me the amount of you that are working on your website SEO, but you're not checking this. It's not just about Google. People are using AI search engines everyday.

And if you don't know if you're getting website traffic from ChatGPT or you don't know what pages it's going to, you really don't know if your SEO strategy is working. Not to mention that you're missing out on a ton of valuable data. And this is data that you can see for free in a tool that you're probably already using.

Let me show you. Go to the reports tab in Google Analytics and then click on library. Then you're gonna click on create a new detailed report.

Set your dimensions to landing page, and then the metrics. Just pick the kind of thing you're interested in. So typically that will be sessions, total users, new users.

You might also wanna add key events, engagement rate, other stuff like that.

We're gonna filter this report so it only shows data if the session source is ChatGPT. Now you can see all the pages that are generating traffic from ChatGPT and what that traffic actually looks like. Don't forget to save this so you can come back to it.
