Not many people know this yet, but AI is kind of obsessed with awards. So if you have a business and you want the AI to recommend you over your competitors, I'm going to tell you how you can take advantage of this little quirk.

More and more people are depending on these recommendations from AI to choose which brand they do business with. Whether it's going to ChatGPT or just a normal Google search, it's more often you're getting an AI response, and the trends only go in one direction. We track thousands of these AI responses every day.

And one thing that the AI loves to do is search for awards. This happens as part of what's called a query than out.

After the user goes to the AI and types in a prompt, the AI then does a series of searches. One of the most common searches we see AI performing is your industry awards. The AI wants to know what awards you and your competitors have received.

A lot of times that's going to determine which brand they recommend.

So here are three ways you can take advantage of this perk. First of all, you have to receive some awards. Don't worry, this is often much easier than you would think.

Most of the award sites being cited by AI right now are either a pay to play. You pay something like a hundred dollars and you automatically win the award, or they're vote based. Whoever can get the most people to vote for their business wins.

At least right now, AI is not discerning among these types of awards and legitimate ones.

But how do you find these award sites? So for our clients, we track the AI responses every day. But if you're just doing this yourself, I have a tip.

This actually came from joy hawkins on the edward stern podcast. Simply go to ChatGPT or Google AI mode and ask what awards there are in your industry.

My second tip is just to create a page on your own website. The AI is going to search for something like personal injury awards in tampa, florida. Just create a page on your website with the title personal injury awards in tampa, florida.

These niche specific award terms typically aren't very competitive, and as long as you're ranking among the top twenty, there's a good chance AI is gonna look at that page before giving its response. And then the content on that page can just be a list of all the awards you've won and why people should hire you.

And my third tip is just to mention your awards every chance you get. When AI is reading the content on your website or third party websites, it's looking for all the reasons it should recommend you versus your competitors. The two most influential pieces of information you can include are numbers such as how long you've been in business or how many customers you've served and awards.

So every time you mention your brand online, whether it's your own website or another website, always follow it up by mentioning a number and an award.
