If you're seeing this without having watched part 1, it's fine, You can watch this and then go back. I'm gonna talk about off-page SEO. Mainly link building.
Back in the day you could just go and buy links from high authority sites. There was a huge emphasis on domain authority and how this would help you rank for more competitive keywords. This isn't really working nowadays.
If you wanna rank on ChatGPT, you don't even necessarily need to be linked. Unlinked brand mentions actually count for a lot. This is obviously much harder to track and it can be harder to control, but it's easier to build.
As of right now, links are still the currency. People are charging a lot for links. This is a really good opportunity that I don't think is gonna be around for very long.
gonna cotton on super quick. And then even having your brand's name mentioned somewhere without a link cost you. When it comes to ranking on Google, you do still need links.
But not the spammy links that you can buy like 500 of for $100. Those days are long gone. Less links of a higher quality is much more effective.
And the best way to do this is responding to journalists when they're looking for experts. In industries to provide them quotes or more information about something that they're writing about. In exchange for your quote, they will link to your website in their article.
I use this method a lot. I've got clients links with Medical News Today, The Huffington Post, the independent. It's effective, it works, and it's actually much easier to DIY cause you're the expert.
I definitely planned to get to technical SEO in this video as well, and I haven't had time, so let me know a part 3 on that.
