It's so much easier to get recommended by ChatGPT than it is to rank in Google, especially if you're like a newer or smaller website. I've done two audits in the last week where the website I was auditing was getting virtually no traffic from Google for non-branded terms. If you go to chat t or even Google's AI mode and you ask specifically for the services they provide, they commonly show up as one of the top recommendations.

This matches what other people are finding too. H R F study recently showed that 28% of the top 1,000 citations from ChatGPT are getting zero visibility in Google right now. AI search is just willing to look a lot deeper.

It's still biased towards big brands like Google is for good reason. But for specific searches with a lot of context, it's just willing to look deeper for that specialized result. And so as more and more people turn to AI for recommendations, there's gonna be more and more opportunity to show up when people are looking for the exact problem that you solve.

So just lean in to whatever it is that you're best at and create as much content as possible on your website and off your website addressing the most common problems that your customers have.
