It's funny how all these old SEO factors starting to matter again I have a few other videos talking about how press releases are again very effective I wanna talk about another one today nap consistency nap stands for name, address and phone number in the early days of SEO it was very important that your name, and phone number were exactly the same in every business directory otherwise Google wouldn't be able to
tell it was the same business also back then business directories were important for ranking even if people never used the directories.
Well recently I was watching Darren Shaw's White Spark Local Update podcast which I highly recommend and he pointed out the nap consistency once again matters in ChatGPT but for slightly different reasons the thing is when you use ChatGPT to get information about a business it's very hard to predict where that information is gonna come from and it's not uncommon for ChatGPT to pull important information like your name, address and phone
number from some obscure directory so that information is inconsistent your potential customers could be getting sent to the wrong address.
However, in that episode of Darren's podcast he pointed out how easy it is to find and fix these inconsistencies you see unlike a traditional SEO where you would have to have some tool that found all these inconsistencies and ChatGPT you Can just ask it. He recommends you start by asking what are all the addresses or what are all the phone numbers you can find for this business?
It comes back with any old or incorrect addresses or phone numbers.
You can ask where did you find that address or phone number and ChatGPT should be able to tell you.
If not, just go to Google, search the incorrect address or phone number with your business name. Often Google's more reliable for this kind of thing. We've already incorporated this into our onboarding process for new clients.
So big thanks to Darren. Go check out his podcast. Tell him t J sent you.
