So OpenAI just announced ChatGPT apps. I wanna talk about the opportunity they present for anyone with a website and how they give us a clue as to what the future of the internet might look like. I actually just made a video a few days ago about how websites are gonna become less important.
You wanna clarify that? I think websites are gonna continue to be very important for at least a few years. But in that video, I predicted that something like MCP.
Would enable platforms like ChatGPT. To bring the user everything that your website currently brings your users. And that's exactly what ChatGPT.
Apps is doing. I'm not saying that ChatGPT. Apps will replace websites, but it looks like it's a step in that direction.
And this could be a big opportunity for business owners or anyone with a website. com. They show how, while you're having a conversation with ChatGPT, you can invoke these apps and interact with them all within the same ChatGPT chat window.
And these are built on MCP, which a lot of integrations are already built on top of, along with a new ChatGPT Apps SDK, which, according to the presentation, is very easy to implement. Now, I'm not a developer, I do build video games as a hobby, but I'm excited to see if it's easy enough. That I could actually implement it if this goes as well as opening eye hopes.
This could be a new gold rush. Being one of the first organizations with the ChatGPT app could be like being one of the first organizations with a website. I think it's safe to say that Google is gonna respond and put something similar into Gemini.
This just seems like the obvious way things will continue going. I also assume platforms will emerge that makes it much easier to integrate this for your company than having to build it from scratch. But certainly at least a trend worth following.
