This is Hubspot's SEO. In February 2023, Hubspot was getting 24 million clicks a month from Google. 2 million clicks a month from Google.
You might think that this is impressive. A lot of these clicks were for things unrelated to Hubspot's business search terms that didn't make them money.
This is called topical authority. Topical authority. Really simple.
How authoritative are you in your niche? Google changed its topical authority algorithm so that Hubspot search traffic went like this: down, down, down to here.
This was a bad SEO strategy in the first place. Imagine ranking for tons of search terms that don't do anything for your business and just use marketing resources because you're getting tons of unrelated traffic. Double down on your niche.
Triple down on your niche. Quadruple down on your niche. Don't write content about things that are unrelated to you.
Focus on what is related to you. Submit your website to directories within your niche. If you submit to general directories, use language related to your niche.
When describing your business, have all of your marketing blurbs mention language in your niche. Focus on this so that you get this and not this. com.
