A lot of people wonder why I pay for not just ChatGPT, but four large language models, so I thought I'd just go through each of the most popular models and explain what they do best. ChatGPT. Is like your everyday questions model, but it's also really good at research if you have a question that requires looking up information online.

ChatGPT's O3 model is gonna be the most reliable, and if you need in depth research, their deep research mode is gonna give you the most comprehensive response. Also it has the best image generator right now, especially if you want something very specific. It's the best at following directions and the only one that can do text reliably, so why would you use anything else?

Let's talk about Claude. Claude is the best at writing. It sounds the least like a large language model.

If you're creating any written content that's gonna be public facing, like website copy, blog post, social media posts, I think Claude's your best bet. Gemini is my favourite model for making anything basic. So what do I mean by that?

If I need to create a document of any kind, I prefer Gemini. ChatGPT. Has a very ChatGPT way of formatting things.

I find Gemini's output to be very standard, but sometimes standard is what you want. Also if you just wanna quickly mock up a website or a Simple coding project like a tool. Gemini's Canvas feature is great for that.

It can also turn any output into a podcast, which is pretty cool. And of course Google currently has the best video generation model v. 0 3.

I'll tell you the last one that I actually pay for, then I'll give you a few bonus ones. And finally I'll tell you which model you should pay for if you're only gonna pay for one. The last one I paid for is Grock, and actually I wouldn't pay for it.

It's just that I already have an X premium account. The only thing I use Grock for is to get like public sentiment if you wanna know what people are saying about a recent event. It's pretty useful for that cause it has access to Twitter's API now.

For some bonus ones, deepseek is the China model that's pretty good and open source, but unless you need like a free or open source model I don't see why you would use it. And last is perplexity. I honestly don't know why anyone uses perplexity anymore, but if you're only gonna pay for one model, I would definitely recommend ChatGPT.
