Let me tell you a crazy story. Yesterday, one of my clients emailed me. I'm doing SEO for this client, but I'm also gonna be managing his Google Ads account.
Yesterday, he forwards me an email from another Google Ads agency. Turns out this ad agency are actually experts in his specific industry. Me and this client, like all my clients, have a very transparent, honest relationship.
And so he just says, hey, I know you're gonna do a great job with my Google ads, but these guys are, like, experts in my industry. What do you think? Well, I take a look at their proposal.
Their prices are lower than mine. So I tell him, hey, if you trust these people, they have a good reputation. Go for it.
And this is far from the first time I've told one of my clients that they should work with a different agency. The thing is, having experience within a specific industry as a digital marketer makes a huge difference. While a lot of the digital marketing principles apply across industries, there's always a learning curve when you start working in a new industry.
Once you work with 10 or 20 different companies within one industry, you just become way more effective. So I have a handful of industries that I'm very comfortable with. One is paint Protection, film and window tinting shops.
For clients in these industries that I'm comfortable with, it's just much easier for me to provide A huge return to them. Now, of course, that's not the only thing that matters. Their reputation, their ability, their pricing.
These all have to make sense, too. And actually, after this client looked deeper into the company, he realized they had a terrible reputation online. They had recently changed their name to try to avoid that reputation.
And so I'll still be helping him with his Google app. But if you're considering a couple different agencies, and one of them has a lot of experience working specifically with businesses like yours, I would wait. That very heavy makes a big difference.
