I've seen too many small business owners wasting money on marketing because they haven't handled the basics management. So here are three things you have to do before you spend a dollar on marketing. One.

Make sure as soon as someone lands on your website, it's immediately clear what you do, why you're the best choice, and the exact step they need to take to start working with you two. Make sure you're collecting data about the people who come to your website. Most of them are not gonna become leads, so you might as well get their data so you can sell to them later.

The bare minimum of this having Google Analytics installed on your website. You probably also want a meta Pixel installed. Even better, have some kind of soft conversion where they can just enter their email to get more information.

Email addresses are gold and No. 3. Make sure when someone does contact you that you're responding right away.

Ideally within four minutes. If they're filling out a form, make sure they get an auto responder and then a follow up email or call. If they call you, ideally you're answering right away.

And if you're thinking TJ, I would love to respond right away, but I don't have enough staff. There's no excuses anymore. Yelp has an AI answering service.

If you don't want to use AI then hire someone. But figure it out. Cause when you don't answer, they're calling your competitor right?

After them. And nine times out of 10, if your competitor answers and you don't, they're going with your competitor.
